MIN184

minimum 184 days

Track your days. Defend your residency.

Residency laws turn on where you spent the bulk of the year — statutes say "more than 183 days," so 184 is the number that counts. MIN184 keeps that count for you, automatically and privately.

WHY 184?

Residency statutes are written as "more than 183 days" — so 184 is the first number that crosses the line, and a leap year makes it exactly half the year plus one. Spend 184 days at your primary home and you have the day count most state residency tests turn on.

Two traps make that number harder to hit than it sounds. First, any part of a day counts — landing at 11:58 p.m. and leaving at 12:02 a.m. is two days present, not one. Second, day counts are only half the test: keeping a year-round-livable home in the other state can make you a statutory resident there even with a clean count. MIN184 tracks both halves.

Rules vary by state and change. MIN184 produces evidence, not legal conclusions — bring its reports to your CPA, or find one who handles residency cases.

WHAT IT DOES

Counts the days that matter

Most states tax you as a resident if you don't spend the majority of the year (184 days) at your primary home. MIN184 keeps the score automatically.

Evidence, not guesswork

Quiet GPS samples, photo locations, calendar events, and workout routes build a contemporaneous record — the kind auditors respect.

Every state you touch

Per-state day counts show what each state could claim, and the domicile checklist tracks the ties that decide close cases.

Audit-ready reports

One tap exports CSV, PDF, or a complete Audit Defense Pack with methodology notes — bring it straight to your CPA.

MIN184 produces evidence, not legal conclusions. It is not tax advice — when you need someone who can interpret it, find a residency CPA.
